Coinbase is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, founded in 2012 by Brian Armstrong and Fred Ehrsam, providing a secure platform for trading, storing, and managing over 250 digital assets. The company serves over 100 million users across more than 100 countries and went public via a direct listing on Nasdaq in April 2021 (ticker: COIN). Its product ecosystem includes the Coinbase retail app, Coinbase Prime for institutions, Coinbase Wallet, and USD Coin (USDC), and as of 2025 the company has begun integrating traditional financial assets like stocks into its platform.
